Math Placement Prerequisites

The University of Southern Mississippi
Department of Mathematics

Students who do not meet the new math prerequisites listed below may take a placement test. The results of the test will be one of the criteria that will determine in which class the student may enroll. Interested students should contact the math office at 601-266-4289 to schedule a testing time. The test is computerized and will be administered in Southern Hall 318. Southern Hall is located on the corner of Southern Drive and East Memorial next to the information booth. Students need to bring their student ID or something showing their name and ID# along with a photo ID. The fee for the test is $10.00. A calculator is provided on the computer. Students are not allowed to bring their own. Test results are given as soon as the test is completed.

Testing is available at the Gulf Park campus. Information is available at this address: http://www.usm.edu/gulfcoast/gcscitech/mathematics/math-prerequisites.php.
