High School Dance Day

Are you a sophomore, junior or senior interested in majoring in dance after high school? 

High School Dance Day is your opportunity to see what dance at Southern Miss can offer you!

You are invited to spend Friday, April 19, 2013 with us in the Theatre and Dance building.  Classes in ballet, modern dance, and improvisation/composition will be taught by our faculty.  Two levels of Ballet and Modern will be available.  In addition, all participants will receive a complimentary ticket to the Spring Dance Concert, featuring the Southern Miss Repertory Dance Company. Lunch is provided. You will also receive a USM Dance t-shirt.

Schedule

  • 9:30-10 a.m. Registration
  • 10-10:15 a.m. - Informal Chat with Faculty
  • 10-11 a.m. - Mini-Dance Concert
  • 11 a.m.-12:15 p.m. - Ballet I & II
  • 12:15-12:45 p.m. - Lunch (provided)
  • 1:00-2:15 p.m. - Modern Dance I & II
  • 2:15-3:30 p.m. - Improvisation/Composition
  • 3:30-3:45 p.m. - Student showing
  • 3:45-7:30 p.m. - Dinner on your own
  • 7:30 p.m. - Spring Dance Concert

For a nonrefundable fee of $20, you can participate in all these activities.  Make your reservations early; spaces fill up quickly. FIRST PAID, FIRST REGISTERED.  You will receive an email confirming receipt of fee. The deadline for entry is Monday, April 8, 2013. Simply submit the form below and mail a check or money order to:
