On March 28, 2008 The University of Southern Mississippi celebrates a milestone in its distinguished history with the inauguration of Dr. Martha Dunagin Saunders as the ninth president.

We are proud that our Southern Miss alumna and Hattiesburg native has returned home to lead the university into our centennial year and beyond. It is a time of celebration!
