The University of Southern Mississippi was pleased to welcome back a well-known alumnus
who dedicated 40 years of service to his alma mater when the Board of Trustees of
State Institutions of Higher Learning named Dr. Joseph S. Paul as the University’s
11th President.
Dr. Paul’s priorities include growing enrollment at all locations, especially on the Coast; further supporting excellent teaching and research; creating a student life experience that is second to none; reaching and exceeding our capital campaign goal; engaging our alumni base as never before; and supporting intercollegiate athletics' ongoing transition to the Sun Belt Conference.
