The Southern Miss Post Office will forward box mail and other mail in compliance with USPS practices.
Upon departure from the University (graduation, transfer, withdrawal, etc...), mailbox holders must complete an official change of address form at the Southern Miss Post Office. This action terminates the mailbox assignment and allows mail to be forwarded for one year.
Mailbox holders who will not be enrolled for the summer semester, but expect to return to school for the fall semester, must reserve their mailbox and provide the Southern Miss Post Office with a temporary forwarding address for the summer.
Mail will not be forwarded for short periods of time such as holiday breaks or breaks between semesters.
Departments are responsible for forwarding mail to former faculty and staff members of their departments.
When a student leaves the University for a semester and they did not come by the Univeristy Post Office to leave a forwarding they can e-mail their forwarding to email@example.com.
