Welcome to the Center for Discovery, Integration, and Transformation. This is an exciting site for you to visit because there are so many fantastic things happening in the School of Social Work that are aimed at making Mississippi and this region a better place for all of us – particularly the most vulnerable. The Center for Discovery, Integration, and Transformation is focused on the applied scholarship being generated by the School of Social Work’s faculty and professional staff. Questions related to the academic activities of the BSW and MSW programs of the School of Social Work should be directed to the School’s home page.

MISSION

The mission of the Center for Discovery, Integration, and Transformation is to support, initiate, and implement research and applied programs that enhance the quality of life for Mississippians. The application of knowledge for this School involves research, external funding, creative programs, and publications aimed at “discovery.” Its focus is on the application of knowledge (scholarship) that develops and spawns creative evidence based programs. These programs are “integrated” into individual practice models, agency services, and finally are institutionalized. The results, both programmatic and at the patient or client level, become “transformational.” The Center for Discovery, Integration, and Transformation aims to increase the life chances for all living in Mississippi and this region through the application of knowledge!
