Program Goal #1: Graduates of the USM MFT program will have demonstrated the necessary knowledge of theory and models, and the clinical skills to competently provide effective systemic mental health services. 

SLO #1 Students will demonstrate entry-level competence of the knowledge of systemic/relational theory and models.

FAM610 video/paper scores are collected and analyzed at the end of each fall semester and reviewed at the beginning of the spring semester.  Clinical Comprehensive Exams scores are collected and analyzed during students’ final semester. They are reviewed in the fall semester of each year. 

SLO #2: Students will effectively assess, conceptualize, and document treatment plans for clients through the lens of systemic/relational theories and models.

Clinical Comprehensive Exam scores are collected during the students last semester in the program, usually the summer session. They are analyzed and reviewed by MFT Faculty the following semester.   

SLO#3 Students will effectively utilize systemic/relational theory and models in clinical practice.

Scores from the AMFTRB Practice Exam measure the progress of second year students. They are collected and analyzed by the program director at the end of the spring semester and reviewed by MFT Core Faculty at the start of the fall semester.

Graduate Achievement  

Graduation rate  

Graduation rates are collected once students complete clinical comprehensive exams and have completed all program requirements. 

 

The program director prepares the data for faculty review.

Action plans are reviewed each fall and spring semester for continuation, modification, or closure. 

Program director updates graduation rates on the program website annually.  

 

Faculty meetings are ongoing and graduation rates are discussed annually coinciding with the submission of the COAMFTE annual report and ongoing in faculty meetings as recruitment and student issues are discussed. 

Graduation rates are regularly discussed in faculty meetings. Formal times that they are recorded and discussed include their final semester after they complete clinical comprehensive exams and finalize other program requirements and when our COAMFTE annual report is due. 

Licensure exam pass rate 

In the state of Mississippi, students may take the licensure exam during their final semester in the program. Students who take the licensure exam at that time are required to submit their licensure exam scores to the program director once they are received. Students who do not take the licensure exam at that time are followed up with to submit data for the COAMFTE annual report.

Job placement rate 

At the conclusion of clinical comprehensive exams, students do an exit interview with faculty. During the exit interview, the students are asked about employment. Students who have not already secured employment at that time are followed up with via email or telephone call during the fall semester.

Evaluation of OBE framework and its assessment plan 

Course instructors submit OBE measurement data to the program director at the end of each semester. Data that is not connected to a course is obtained by the program director through requests (for example, requesting client information from practicum sites)
