Associate Professor

Bio

Andy Park is an educator, artistic director, and puppeteer, leading the USM Theatre program as Head of Directing and serving as an Associate Professor. Previously, he taught at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (2017-2023) and Columbia College Chicago (2014-2017). Andy served as the artistic director of Nebraska Repertory Theatre (2017-2022) and directed notable productions, including The Glass Menagerie, Mother Courage, Avenue Q, and Hair.

He spent a decade as the artistic director of the John G. Shedd Aquarium, creating multispecies aquatic shows such as Fantasea and One World. He directed numerous productions for Illinois Shakespeare Festival, including Cymbeline and ShakesFEAR.

Andy conceived and directed the European tour of Quest Theatre Ensemble's Blue Nativity and multiple Cirque Shanghai franchise productions, showcased at the Pepsi Skyline Stage at Navy Pier and the Tropicana Casino. Andy's productions have received multiple Jeff Awards and American College Theater Awards.
