Technicians provide advice and guidance in selecting equipment for use in classrooms and conference rooms. Equipment is loaned or rented and can be delivered upon request.
Equipment is available for teaching and learning in classrooms as well as equipment for meetings and conferences in meeting rooms. Equipment available through our centralized pool includes: laptops (Windows only), video/data projectors, video monitors, DVD players, video cassette players and screens.
All Southern Miss employees, departments, organizations, students, affiliates and local off-campus organizations are eligible.
Requests are reported and tracked by entering a Help Desk work order.
There is a late fee of $45.00 for requests made within 48 hours of an event.
There is a cancellation fee of $45.00, if we are not notified 4 hours before the event is to start.
Normal business hours: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
After hours and weekend support must be arranged prior to the event.
Equipment rentals are subject to the availability of equipment at the time of the request. Because there is a limited amount of equipment and because academic courses have first priority, Equipment Services is unable to supply multiple equipment items for conventions or workshops. Please call for availability and costs.
There is no rental fee for equipment used by faculty, staff or students of Southern Miss in an academic course. Rental fees do apply to equipment used in Continuing Education activities or externally funded activities on or off campus. A security deposit may be required.
