For Students With Limited Access to Internet Services

Cook Library is currently open and provides access to 148 internet-connected computers. Those computers are accessible to faculty, staff and students. View a list of computers available for use on any campus. They will remain available as long as the library is open. You will have to use your USM ID card to access the building and your CampusID credentials to log in to the computers. Visit the Library's website for updates and schedule.

  • Hattiesburg: At the present time, all Xfinity WiFi Public Hotspots are now open to everyone on the “xfinitywifi” SSID. For more information, visit http://wifi.xfinity.com/.
  • Gulf Coast: Both Sparklight and CSpire are opening WiFi hotspots for public use during this time.

Internet Essentials from Comcast has increased speeds for all customers - no action is required. In addition, new customers will receive two months of free service. AT&T’s Access plan is offering 2-months of free services to qualified customers. This is primarily for households participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). View Information regarding this program and application for access.
