Nature Camp: Animals Around Us

Learn about the native animals in south Mississippi!


CAMP IS FULL/REGISTRATION CLOSED

When: June 15-17, 2022

Who: Rising 3rd through 6th Grade Students

Cost: $150 or $125 (BYO lunch), Friends of Lake Thoreau: $135 or $115 (BYO lunch)

Birds, insects, reptiles, amphibians, fish, mammals!  Join us as we learn about the native animals that live in south Mississippi! We interact wih live animals and explore the collections at the Natural Science Museum in Jackson.  Animal researchers will visit with campers to teach them how to study the diverse wildlife of Mississippi.

This camp is a day camp that meets each at the Lake Thoreau Environmental Center.  we will take field trips each day in USM vehicles to visit the local rivers.  Check-in will be between 7:30 and 8:30 A.M. each day, and checkout  will occur between 4:45 and 5:30 P.M.
