The University of Southern Mississippi, iTech and local school technology directors were treated to a sneak peek at the next generation of Tandberg videoconferencing and telepresence on Wednesday, Sept. 29.
The state-of-the-art Tandberg truck was parked on the Southern Miss campus between Joseph Greene Hall and the Liberal Arts Building. Attendees were shown various sessions regarding the possibilities of video content for learning and collaboration.
“It was very exciting to see the opportunities we at Southern Miss can utilize in our academic realm,” said Chief Information Officer Homer Coffman. “We are thankful that Cisco stopped by to show us a glimpse of this advancing technology.”
Now a part of Cisco, Tandberg is the market share leader and the fastest growing company in the telepresence and videoconferencing industry. Tandberg offers a full range of telepresence endpoints for immersive environments, conference rooms, individual desktops and home offices.
“The presentations Cisco Tandberg provided were very informative and it was nice to hear how K-12 districts are incorporating technology in their classrooms,” said Julie Green, instructional technologist at the Learning Enhancement Center at Southern Miss.
