DuBard Method Course Offers Language, Reading Skills Development

Kindergarten through second grade general and special education teachers, reading specialists and speech-language pathologists can learn multisensory teaching strategies during the two-part DuBard Association Method® basic course set for Sept. 21-23 and Oct. 19-22 on the Hattiesburg campus.
“The DuBard Association Method® is a tool that educators can use to reach all students,” said Missy Schraeder, professional development coordinator at the DuBard School for Language Disorders.
The course topics will include the principles of the DuBard Association Method®, The Northhampton phonetic symbol system, oral and written language skill development and incorporating the DuBard Association Method® into the school curriculum.
The information and strategies gained in the course will benefit children who may have severe oral and written language and/or hearing loss, severe speech disorders, learning disabilities, dyslexia, Autism spectrum disorders and Asperger's disorder.
The course is approved for four continuing education units (CEUs) for educators and speech-language pathologists.
