Southern Miss Welcomes Students to Campus for Honors Day

Some of the top high school students from across the state and region visited The University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg campus on Friday for Honors Days hear from faculty, staff and students about the benefits of an education from Southern Miss. Speaking to a group of students about study abroad programs and active learning experiences at the university include, from right, psychology professor Dr. Stan Kuczaj; Southern Miss Director of International Education Dr. Susan Steen; Haley Lewis, Southern Miss Admissions Counselor; and Andrew Brown, a Southern Miss senior Presidential Scholar from Madison and a member of Southern Style, the university's student recruitment team.

Honors Day is the annual recruitment event for the Southern Miss Honors College, the sixth oldest Honors College in the country among public universities. The day provides an opportunity to show prospective students what the college and university has to offer to help them meet their academic and career goals.
