Batesville Student Selected for Whos Who at Southern Miss

Jennie Thomas of Batesville, Miss., has been named to 2010-11 Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities at The University of Southern Mississippi.

Thomas, a nutrition and dietetics major and chemistry minor, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas. She is an Honors College Ambassador and a member of the Southern Miss Creed Team, Eagle Connection Recruitment Team, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Lambda Sigma Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society and Southern Miss Retention Telecounseling. Among her campus activities she is also president of the College of Health Ambassadors, president of the Student Dietetic Association and president of Alpha Epsilon Delta.

Thomas was one of 40 students at Southern Miss selected for this prestige award.  Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities is the highest award the academic community bestows. Students are chosen based on the following criteria: grade point average, community involvement, future leadership ability and/or potential and participation and leadership within school organizations and extracurricular activities.
