University of Southern Mississippi students will have another tool to assist them in their preparation for finals, as University President Martha Saunders announced Thursday that Cook Library will be open around the clock during exam week.

The move means that when the Learning Commons and second floor of Cook Library open at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, those areas will not close again until Thursday, Dec. 15, at 10 p.m. Free coffee will also be available when the library's Starbucks is closed during this time period.

Saunders approved the funding required to extend the library's hours at the request of Student Government Association (SGA) President Erick Brown.

“SGA is so excited that we could serve the students in this way for another semester,” Brown said. “We're grateful to Dr. Saunders and all the many other administrators and staff who worked with us to benefit the students academically.”
