DuBard Association Method Basic Course Available in September, October

The DuBard School for Language Disorders at The University of Southern Mississippi will host the DuBard Association Method® Basic Course Sept. 20-22 and Oct. 18-20 from 8 a.m.-3:45 p.m. on the Hattiesburg campus.

The course is open to teachers in general and special education kindergarten through second grade, teachers of individuals with learning disabilities, reading specialists and speech-language pathologists. The course is approved for four continuing education units (CEUs) for educators and speech-language pathologists. The course can be taken for three graduate hours of academic credit as well.

The course will cover the principles of the DuBard Association Method®, the Northampton phonetic symbol system, oral and written language skill development and the DuBard Association Method® as part of the school curriculum.

The information and strategies learned in the course will benefit children who may have severe oral and written language disorders and/or hearing loss, severe speech disorders, learning disabilities, dyslexia, and autism spectrum disorders, as well as typically developing children in kindergarten through second grade.
