Students at the DuBard School for Language Disorders at The University of Southern Mississippi donated approximately 200 cans of food to the Salvation Army on Wednesday, Nov. 16.
The students were asked to donate healthy canned foods such as beans, corn and vegetables. The students also used the cans as make-shift weights in their physical education classes before donating them to the Salvation Army.
Capt. Andy Gilliam, of the Salvation Army, thanked the students for the generous donation and informed them that the food would help feed needy families in the Hattiesburg community.
