Funeral Services set for Dr. Bobby Anderson, former dean of College of Education and Psychology

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 10 at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Grove for Dr. Bobby Anderson, former dean of the University of Southern Mississippi College of Education and Psychology, who died Feb. 7 at Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg. He was 78.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today, Wednesday Feb. 9 at Moore Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg following Thursday's service.

A native of Cardwell, Mo. Anderson joined Southern Miss in 1968 and also served as professor of education and associate dean of the Graduate School at the university until his retirement in 1995. 

Survivors include his wife, Joy Anderson of Hattiesburg; three sons, Stephen A. Anderson and his wife, Robin of Gulfport, Miss.; Robert Anderson, and Rusty Anderson and his wife, Theresa, all of Hattiesburg; five grandsons and three great-grandsons; a sister, Mary Wright of Valparaiso, Fla.; and a brother, Glen Anderson of Paragould, Ark.

Memorials donations honoring Anderson may be made to the Capital Improvement Fund at Calvary Baptist Church, 3139 Oak Grove Road, Hattiesburg, Miss. 39402.
