University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Homecoming Maid Ashley Halferty of Kiln (left) tosses beads to faculty, staff and students during the university's Golf Cart Spirit Parade October 19. Held on the Gulf Park campus in Long Beach, the parade and homecoming maid are a first for Southern Miss Gulf Coast. Halferty, who will be escorted by Southern Miss Gulf Coast Student Government Association Vice President James Moody, will be presented with the homecoming court at halftime during the university's football game against Southern Methodist University Saturday, Oct. 22.
