The Paint Southern Miss Pink Committee's goal is to bring breast cancer awareness to The University of Southern Mississippi's Hattiesburg campus, and there are a couple ways it is planning to get students, faculty and staff involved during Breast Cancer Awareness month in October.

Paint the Campus Pink door decorating is a contest in which participants decorate the doors of their residence hall, sorority or fraternity house, office or any door around campus. The doors will be judged in the categories of Most Educational Decoration, Most Creative and Use of the Color Pink.

All registration forms must be received by 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6 and all door decorations must be completed by 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 7, for judging. To register for this event, online visit https://forms.usm.edu/studentactivities/embed.php?id=35.

The Bra Art Contest is another way to Paint Southern Miss Pink in October. This competition engages participants to decorate a bra to help raise awareness for breast cancer. Contestants are encouraged to be as creative as possible with their designs and incorporate the color pink into their theme. The deadline for submission of artwork is Friday, Oct. 7 at 3 p.m. in the Student Activities Office.

Votes may cast for the best bra artwork with a cash donation in the Student Activities HUB during normal business hours and the Union Lobby from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The bra art will be on display from Monday, Oct. 3 until Friday, Oct. 21. The bra art with the most cash will be declared the winner. To register for this event, online visit https://forms.usm.edu/studentactivities/view.php?id=36.
