Pittman Receives Award at National Association of Communication Centers Conference

Ed Pittman of Slidell, La., a May 2011 graduate of The University of Southern Mississippi's Communication Studies program, received the Bob and Ann Weiss Undergraduate Paper Award at the National Association of Communication Centers Conference, held March 18-19 in Richmond, Va.

Pittman's research, entitled “The Best Organizational Communication Practices of Communication Centers: A Case Study of The University of Southern Mississippi's Speaking Center,” included ideas from organizational communication to describe the communication he observed in the university's Speaking Center.

Located on the first floor of Cook Library, the Sothern Miss Speaking Center is a key component of the university's quality enhancement plan.
