Research Project Entry Deadline April 8 for Student Research Colloquium

University of Southern Mississippi undergraduate and graduate students interested in participating in the fifth annual Student Research Colloquium have until Friday, April 8 at 11 p.m. to submit a research project for the event.

“The Student Research Colloquium is a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their work with the broader university community, and offers insight into the exciting and diverseresearch taking place at Southern Miss,” said Dr. Kyna Shelley, professor in the Department of Educational Studies and Research and coordinator for the event.

Sponsored by the Southern Miss Office of the Vice President for Research, the colloquium is scheduled for Thursday, April 21 from 6-9 p.m. at the Thad Cochran Center, and admission is free. Original research projects conducted by individuals or groups are welcomed, provided all participants are students and the projects have a faculty sponsor. Students should submit a project abstract or description of no more than 250 words clearly describing their submission, including whether it is research or creative/visual arts. The abstract may represent a work in progress, but the project must be completed by the time of the colloquium.

All projects will be presented as posters at the event, and should include readable and illustrative materials such as photos, graphs, tables and large print text.
