Tue, 09/27/2011 - 02:11pm | By: Charmaine Williams Schmermund

The School of Social Work at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast will conduct a research study Saturday, Oct. 1 involving randomly selected residences south of Interstate 10 in Hancock, Harrison and Jackson Counties. The data collected will be used for a research study concerning the effects of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

The researchers, who will collect data from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., can be identified by T-shirts labeled Southern Miss School of Social Work. If weather poses a threat to researchers conducting the study, a rain date of Oct. 8 has been designated.
