Road Between Thad Cochran Center, Walker Science Building to Close Nov. 23

Beginning Wednesday, Nov. 23 the road between the Thad Cochran Center and Walker Science Building on The University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg campus will be closed to all vehicular traffic, except for emergency, service and delivery vehicles. The purpose of this closure is to enhance pedestrian safety in this area, which is in keeping with the goals of the University Master Plan.
The closure will start on Charles Lane Drive at Forest Avenue near the Barnes and Noble bookstore. Motorists should be aware that once turning on to Charles Lane Drive off of Golden Eagle Drive, there is only limited faculty/staff and handicapped parking in the area and no through traffic access to other roads on campus.
