Southern Miss Gulf Coast Breaks Ground for Hardy Hall, Lloyd Hall Restoration

LONG BEACH, Miss. -- University of Southern Mississippi officials broke ground today on restoration projects at the Gulf Park campus involving Hardy Hall and Lloyd Hall – both of which were severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina six years ago.
Hardy Hall, an $8.7 million construction project, and Lloyd Hall, a $2.3 million construction project, are longtime structures that sustained heavy damage from Katrina in 2005. The three-story Hardy Hall will house the bookstore, dining services, administrative offices and the College of Education and Psychology. Lloyd Hall will house nine classrooms. Construction on both restoration projects are set to begin soon and completion is expected by fall 2012.
