Southern Miss Introduces SOAR Mobile

University of Southern Mississippi students and faculty can now perform most SOAR self-service functions on the go using their mobile devices through SOAR mobile.
Southern Miss is working with HighPoint Consulting to allow integration of its SOAR student system into user-friendly formats that will be immediately accessible via mobile devices. The technology is designed to work with PeopleSoft/SOAR.
Students can check grades, view class schedules, check account activity, find their way with the interactive campus map and enroll in classes. In addition, faculty will be able to look up student information, review class rosters, and view teaching schedules and grades. These and much more are now available to students and faculty at Southern Miss. This groundbreaking concept is designed to be used with “smart” devices such as Android phones, iPhones, iPads and tablets.
“Mobile access technology is something few universities are doing right now,” said Homer Coffman, Chief Information Officer at Southern Miss. “We are leading the way to the future by providing information to students and faculty. Mobile access is the innovative way of the future - quick access on the go.”
