Southern Miss Students Line Up to Receive Samsung Tablets for Pilot Program

University of Southern Mississippi President Martha Saunders took part in handing out the Galaxy Tab™ 10.1 mobile tablets (UTab) to students on Monday, Aug. 22 at the Trent Lott Center on the Hattiesburg campus.

The university has partnered with Blackboard Inc, and Samsung Telecommunications America (Samsung Mobile) to conduct the UTab pilot program during the 2011-2012 academic year that includes supplying the mobile tablets to participating students.

The year-long initiative includes the distribution of 700 tablets to students in the Honors College, McNair Scholar Program, Southern Style, SGA elected officials and students leaders at Southern Miss Gulf Coast.
