Student Dies in Covington County

Emezie Samuel Ezeala-Harrison of Ridgeland, Miss., a sophomore at The University of Southern Mississippi, died today in Covington County, Miss.

“The Southern Miss community is deeply saddened by the death of Emezie,” said Dean of Students Dr. Eddie Holloway. “Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”

Counseling services are available to members of the university community following the passing of Ezeala-Harrison through Student Counseling Services (SCS), located in Kennard-Washington Hall. While SCS hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, for 24/7 mental health support: call or text 988.
