Wells Recognized for Service by Dean of Students Office

Timothy Wells, a junior international studies major from Hurley, Miss. was recently recognized by The University of Southern Mississippi Dean of Students Office for his service to the Student Government Association (SGA) and his work on student spirit activities during homecoming and throughout the fall 2011 semester.

Wells is the executive administrator of event programming for the Student Government Association. His job entails overseeing the five major SGA events throughout the year: homecoming, the Miss USM pageant, Eaglepalooza, Lighting the Way and the Big Event.

“Timothy is an outstanding student leader and we appreciate his assistance with student activities programming,” said Dean of Students Dr. Eddie Holloway.

Wells is a member of the Baptist Student Union leadership team and is an alumnus of Lambda Sigma honor society. He also served as student co-director for Southern Miss' 2010 homecoming events.   

“I'm grateful for this award,” Wells said. “I just thank God for the opportunity to serve the student body and for the opportunities that he has presented me with. I am so blessed.”
