Human Resource Management Professional Certificate to be Offered

The University of Southern Mississippi's Office of Professional Development and Educational Outreach will offer the Essentials in Human Resource Management Professional Certificate June 21 and 22.

The course will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the Hattiesburg campus. The cost is $369 for those who register before June 8 and $419 after that date. Materials are included. To receive the professional certificate, participates must take an exam at the end.

Small business owners, entry-level human resource professionals, people responsible for the human resource functions in their companies and people looking into human resource as a career-change possibility will benefit from program.

“The program is designed to challenge professionals and provide them with the skills they need to confidently face today's complex human resource situations and compliance issues within their organization, said Jan Farve, program leader and nationally certified professional human resource professional.

Participants will receive a comprehensive overview of the human resource function and have the opportunity to gain insight into today's most vital and timely topics including employment law, selecting qualified employees, compensation, orientation and training, and the employee performance process. Techniques for handling human resource challenges through interactive case studies designed to make participants feel comfortable dealing with human resource issues will be covered.
