Institute for Disability Studies to Hold Fair Housing Workshop in Grenada

The University Of Southern Mississippi Institute for Disability Studies (IDS) will hold a workshop on fair housing/homeownership on Monday, June 18, from 1-3 p.m. at the Lewis Johnson Senior Citizens Complex located at 299 Martin Luther King Boulevard in Grenada.

The workshop will focus on fair housing, housing discrimination, the housing rights of individuals, how to file a housing complaint and other fair housing information as well as covering the basics of homeownership and the down-payment assistance services provided by the Mississippi Home Of Your Own (HOYO) program. Light refreshments will be provided.

The workshop is presented by IDS' HousingSmart project, funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), which works to ensure equal opportunities in housing and to increase homeownership for Mississippians with disabilities.
