Dr. Frances A. Karnes, distinguished university professor at The University of Southern Mississippi, and Dr. Kristin R. Stephens, assistant professor at Duke University, have co-edited another book in the Practical Strategies Series in Gifted Education published by Prufrock Press.  The book, Science Strategies for Students with Gifts and Talents, was written by Dr. Michael S. Matthews, associate professor of gifted education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

This book examines some common pitfalls in how science is taught and then suggests ways teachers can improve their practices in this area.  Specific sections cover elementary, middle, and high school science instruction, with a focus on how teachers can be effective in meeting the needs of the academically advanced and high-ability learners in their classrooms at each of these levels.
