Lecture Series in Higher Education Kicks Off Friday, Feb. 10

The University of Southern Mississippi Department of Educational Studies and Research will host the Lecture Series in Higher Education beginning Friday, Feb.10 at 11 a.m. in Owings-McQuagge Hall, room 134. The featured speaker will be Dr. Michael Hevel of the University of Iowa who will present “A History of College Students and Alcohol.” Admission is free.
Other lectures in the series and presentation dates include the following:
Friday, Feb. 17, 2:30 p.m.:“Learning from the Dead: Understanding Higher Education Survivability through Historiographic Post-Mortem Reconstruction,” presented by R. Eric Platt of Louisiana State University, Owings-McQuagge Hall room 127.
Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1:30 p.m.: “Access, Development and Persistence: Moving Historically Underrepresented Students through the Higher Education Pipeline,” presented by Dr. Henrietta Pichon of the University of New Orleans, Owings-McQuagge Hall room 127.
