The Live Oak Writing Project at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast is hosting Camp Live Oak for the 2012 summer. Designed for students entering third through sixth grades, Camp Live Oak will provide a fun environment where writing will be integrated with art, science, history and literature. A variety of challenging and creative activities will guide campers and expose them to the writing process and beyond.

The first camp will be held June 25 – 29 and the second camp will be held July 2 – 6, but not on July 4. Camp sessions are 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday of the specified week. The June session is $150 and July is $130. For both sessions, students will receive a t-shirt, snacks and materials.

Camp leaders are Live Oak Writing Project Teacher Consultants who are experienced teachers and writers. All sessions will be held on the university's Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.
