Ruffin Completes Southern Miss ROTC Program

Lorenza Ruffin Jr. of State Line, Miss. received a second lieutenant commission into the U.S. Army after completing the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) program during the 2011-2012 academic year at The University of Southern Mississippi. ROTC helps train college students to become an officer in a branch of the U.S. military.

Ruffin, who graduated from Southern Miss with a degree interdisciplinary studies, is the son of Lorenza Ruffin of Waynesboro, Miss. and Doris Ruffin of State Line. His first assignment with the U.S. Army will be at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio, Texas.
