Social Work, City of Long Beach Proclaim March as Professional Social Work Month

The City of Long Beach, with the help of students and faculty in The University of Southern Mississippi School of Social Work, proclaimed the month of March as Professional Social Work Month during the city's regular meeting on March 6. Long Beach Mayor Billy Skellie read aloud the proclamation, “Social Work Matters,” to the Board of Aldermen, university representatives, social work professionals and meeting attendees. Mayor Skellie then presented the proclamation to Dr. Tom Osowski, assistant professor in the School of Social Work.
