Southern Miss Beck Honored with Long Beach Historical Society Award

Allisa Beck, collection management librarian at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Library, has been named recipient of the Mary Ellen Alexander Lifetime Achievement Award. She was presented the annual award by the Long Beach Historical Society at their Jan. 9 reception.
The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions in increasing the awareness, preservation, and appreciation of history relating to Long Beach, the Mississippi Gulf Coast region and the state of Mississippi. It is named in honor of the late Mary Ellen Alexander, founder and first president of the society.
