Southern Miss Professor Assists Houston Police with Research Project

Dr. Thomas Payne, associate professor in the School of Criminal Justice -- Southern Miss Gulf Coast, recently assisted the Houston Police Department with its ongoing Eyewitness Identification research project.
Payne spent several hours in Houston helping officers collect baseline data for the project. In a letter of appreciation, Houston Robbery Division Capt. M.S. Holloway noted that Payne's contributions "were invaluable."
Holloway went on to thank the University for its support in allowing Payne to take time away from his regular duties at the Gulf Park campus.
