Tue, 07/24/2012 - 09:13am

Dr. Heather Annulis, associate professor and assistant director of the Workplace Learning and Performance Institute at The University of Southern Mississippi, delivered a presentation during the 12th International Conference on Knowledge, Culture and Change Management earlier this month in Chicago.

The topic of her paper was "Change Leaders' Reflections of Hurricane Katrina: A Qualitative Review." Janea McDonald, a current doctoral student in human capital development, served as co-presenter.

The conference paper discussed change management precipitated by natural disasters, specifically leaders' responses to Hurricane Katrina's effect on Gulf Coast organizations' workforce issues.

The presentation and paper are the results of Annulis' fall 2011 Change Leadership class in which students interviewed leaders in organizations that were affected by Hurricane Katrina.
