Students Represent Southern Miss at the ADDYs

Southern Miss students show off the awards they captured at the American Advertising Federation of the Mississippi Gulf Coast's annual presentation.

Students from The University of Southern Mississippi captured best of show and the special merit award during the American Advertising Federation of the Mississippi Gulf Coast's annual 2011-12 awards presentation held at Oak Crest Manor in Pass Christian, Miss.

Outside professional designers juried the professional and student submissions.

Franz Gambe (Chicago) won the best of student awards, while Paul Donnell (Gluckstadt) was the recipient of the special judges merit award. Winning gold were Celeste Plaisance (Bay St. Louis), Paul Donnell (Gluckstadt), and Franz Gambe (Chicago). Taking home silver awards were Stephanie Gardner ( Waveland), Pamela Vitteck (Gulfport), Franz Gambe (Chicago), and Katrina Baker (Petal), who won two silvers.

 “It is important for students to participate in these professional organizations and for the industry to know the strong work being produced by students at the University of Southern Mississippi,” said Professor John House, chair of the department of Art and Design at Southern Miss.
