Supreme Court Justice Scalia Delivers Lecture at Southern Miss

United States Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia delivered a lecture on "The Methodology of Originalism" as part of The University of Southern Mississippi's Honors Forum Series on Wednesday, April 4.

Scalia, who is the longest-serving justice on the High Court, spoke before a large crowd at Bennett Auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus. Afterward, he answered questions from the audience.

Appointed to the Court by President Ronald Reagan  in 1986, Scalia has been described as the intellectual anchor of the Court's conservative wing.

During his speech to the Southern Miss crowd, Scalia outlined his stance on "Originalism," emphasizing that the U.S. Constitution should be applied as it was written and not interpreted as a "living document."
