WUSM Spring Slumgullion Set for March 31 during HUBFEST in Hattiesburg

WUSM Roots Radio 88.5, Keg and Barrel and JHM Graphics, will kick off the WUSM Spring Slumgullion Saturday, March 31, at HUBFEST in Downtown Hattiesburg, and continue during the entire month of April at The Keg and Barrel on Hardy Street.

The WUSM Spring Slumgullion is planned as part of Public Radio Music Month, and is aimed at raising awareness and funds for WUSM.

For a $25 donation, participants will receive an event t-shirt and $10 gift card to the Keg and Barrel.  All proceeds will benefit WUSM, and will help offset the cost of all aspects of operation.

In addition, there will be a silent auction of three pieces of autographed and framed USM athletic memorabilia. The pieces can be viewed at Hub Fest, and the auction will continue April 1st through the 30th at the Keg and Barrel.

WUSM is Hattiesburg's only non-commercial radio station, and provides practical experience for students that seek to enter the mass communication field. Students produce live shows, gather and deliver news reports, produce recorded announcements and programs, and receive hands on training in the field of radio.

WUSM helps to prepare students for entry-level jobs and gives students the tools to turn those entry-level jobs into a career. Your donation assures that the students will have access to modern equipment that will allow them to compete on a national level. A side benefit is that qualified and successful USM graduates bolster the school's reputation as a quality institution.
