Annual Garage Sale to Benefit Southern Miss United Way Campaign

The 20^th annual United Way Mega Garage Sale will be hosted by the Association of Office Professionals and Recreational Sports and Delta Tau Delta fraternity on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the Southern Miss Payne Center.

“We have been doing this a long time and it is a great way to give back to the community,” said Jewel Adams, president of the Association of Office Professionals.

All proceeds from the garage sale will contribute to the university-wide United Way Campaign. Useable personal items are still being accepted for the sale on Tuesday, Dec. 2 and Thursday, Dec. 4 from 3 - 6 p.m. at the trailer on the corner of West 4^th Street and North 34^th Avenue. A tax receipt will be available upon request.

“We have an abundance of cheerful givers in the university family,” Southern Miss President Rodney Bennett said. “Our success, however, comes not only in reaching our goal, but in ‘making your caring count right here at home' for those in our community who need our gifts of self, time and resources.”
