Cat Island by Kayak to Premiere at Katrina Research Center June 26

The Katrina Research Center at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast will host a premiere of the photography exhibit, “Cat Island by Kayak: A Retrospective,” by Dr. Eric Wyble on Wednesday, June 26, from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at the Katrina Research Center, located on the third floor of the library on the university's Gulf Park campus in Long Beach.

A photographer since the 1980s, Wyble's exhibit features his use of thediscontinued Kodak infrared black and white film and a 35mm camera. Living near the Mississippi Sound, Wyble combined his passion of sea kayaking to Cat Island and photographing the ever-changing seascape. In addition to the photographs, historical highlights of Cat Island are also elements of the exhibit, which features photographs taken both before and after Hurricane Katrina.
