Cleveland, Crowe Published in International Academic Journal

Jonnie Cleveland, a University of Southern Mississippi doctoral student and Dr. Marge Crowe, an assistant professor in the university's Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education, recently had an article, titled “Cognitive Interventions for Students with Attention Deficit Disorder Transitioning from Secondary School Settings: A Meta-Analytic Review” published in the peer-reviewed journal Delta Kappa Gamma Bulletin: International Journal for Professional Educators.

The article focuses on the number of students entering postsecondary education affected by Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), with an examination of existing research on strategies designed to support individuals dealing with ADD, as well as outcomes of these studies and the identification of effective intervention strategies.

A native of Union, Miss. Cleveland is pursuing her doctorate in special education with an emphasis in gifted studies. She is a graduate assistant for Dr. Frances Karnes in the Karnes Center for Gifted Studies and for the department.

Crowe is a veteran educator with 33 years of experience working in public and private schools. Her research interests include assistive technology, differentiating instruction, early childhood special education, attention deficit disorders and learning disabilities in higher education and working with families of individuals with disabilities.
