Southern Miss to Host Pine Belt Parade of Champions Dec. 16

The University of Southern Mississippi will host the Pine Belt Parade of Champions Monday, Dec. 16, at 5:30 p.m. on its Hattiesburg campus. The event, organized by area high schools, will honor three area state championship football teams including Bassfield, Forrest County Agricultural and Oak Grove high schools.

On the day of the parade, employees are asked to move their parked vehicles from College Drive (map), Eagle Walk Drive south of the football stadium, Southern Miss Drive (map) in front of McLemore (map) and Southern (map) halls, and East Memorial Drive (map), including parking lots adjacent to these streets by 4 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16.

Staging for the parade will be along Eagle Walk Drive in the area from the Ogletree Alumni House (map) to the freshman residence halls (map), and the school buses will be parked on College Drive between the Trent Lott Center (map) and Human Performance and Recreation (HPR) Building (map). The walking parade will turn right onto Southern Miss Drive and then right onto East Memorial Drive and from there will follow the route of the traditional Eagle Walk (map).
