Southern Miss Theatre Broadcasts National Theatre Live 50 years on stage

The University of Southern Mississippi Department of Theatre will broadcast the National Theatre of Great Britain's 50th anniversary event on Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. The showing will be held in Tatum Theatre.

To celebrate its 50th anniversary, the National Theatre of Great Britain presents National Theatre: 50 Years on Stage, bringing together the best British actors for a unique evening of unforgettable performances, broadcast live from London to cinemas around the world.

A cast of 100 will perform live on stage in this once-in-a-lifetime event, directed by the National Theatre's current Director Nicholas Hytner, including award-winning actors Roger Allam, Simon Russell Beale, Benedict Cumberbatch, Frances de la Tour, Judi Dench, Christopher Eccleston, Ralph Fiennes, Michael Gambon, Derek Jacobi, Alex Jennings, Rory Kinnear, Adrian Lester, Anna Maxwell Martin, Helen Mirren, Andrew Scott, Maggie Smith and Penelope Wilton and more.

Performances in London are ‘live captured' with the finest High Definition technology and then subsequently broadcast to venues the world over, allowing for world class productions, acclaimed actors, and groundbreaking companies to be seen here in southern Mississippi.
