Institute for Disability Studies to Hold Free Fair Housing Workshop in Long Beach

The University of Southern Mississippi Institute for Disability Studies (IDS) will hold a free fair housing workshop on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 6 p.m. at the Institute for Disability Studies on the Southern Miss Gulf Park Campus in Long Beach.

The one and a half hour workshop will focus on fair housing, housing discrimination, the housing rights of individuals, how to file a housing complaint and other fair housing information. Light refreshments will be provided. Workshop materials are available in alternate formats on request. To register for the free workshop, call 228.214.3400.

The workshop is presented by IDS' Mississippi Fair Housing Initiative Program through funding provided by the Mississippi Development Authority Disaster Recovery Division.

According to the Fair Housing Act (Title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968), it is unlawful to discriminate in housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or disability.
