Phi Kappa Phi Chapter to Sponsor Information Session on Graduate School

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, Chapter 99, is sponsoring an information session titled “Getting into Graduate School” Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 4-6 p.m. at the Polymer Science Auditorium on The University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg campus, with a satellite link to the Southern Miss Gulf Park Campus in Long Beach.
The session's panel will include a distinguished faculty member representing each academic college at Southern Miss, who will share their advice and experience with students concerning graduate program application. This event will take place on the Hattiesburg campus of Southern Miss with a satellite link to the Gulf Park campus.
In addition, the session will address the following items:
• Searching for and researching appropriate graduate programs
• The importance of Graduate Record Examinations (GRE)
• The importance of undergraduate and/or masters GPA
• Writing suitable application cover letters and curriculum vitae
• Selecting persons to serve as professional references
• Successful interview tactics
• Responding to acceptance letters
